Former NYC Mayor Giuliani to speak at Ulster County GOP dinner
KINGSTON — Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will be the keynote speaker for the annual Ulster County Republican dinner, county GOP Chairman Mario Catalano said.
Over the past several weeks, Giuliani has reportedly begun considering a run for governor in 2010.
“We’ve got, quite frankly, the most sought-after Republican speaker in the country,” Catalano said.
Catalano and Giuliani had been in the news together last week. According to press reports, Guiliani called Catalano personally and convinced him to flip his support for state party chairman to Niagra County GOP Chairman Henry Wojtaszek. Wojtaszek ultimately lost to Wall Street attorney Ed Cox, whom Catalano said he’s re-pledged his support to.
The Ulster GOP dinner will be Oct. 8 at the Hillside Manor banquet hall in Kingston.
